Erebid Moth

Erebus ephesperis

Description:

Erebus ephesperis (Hübner, 1827). I only took one photo of this moth. So, the second picture is just an enlargement to show how "hairy" this beautiful moth is.

Habitat:

This Erebid Moth was spotted in our back terrace, this evening. It may have been attracted by the lights or was just seeking shelter from the terrible weather conditions we are experiencing. You can see that the background of this picture is a tarpaulin which we have had to throw up fairly hurriedly as torrential rain was coming in, horizontally, through the grills.
