Melanoplus differentialis
Fairly large grasshopper. This one is mostly pale green and yellow but the species can vary from tan to green to yellow. No markings on the body but a distinctive herringbone pattern on the hind femora.
Suburban. Attempting to blend in with the remnants of a small veggie garden.
