Willet

Tringa semipalmata

Description:

A beachcomber on a sunny day. Willets were probably one of the more common shorebirds that I saw.

Habitat:

Following the edge of the receding water, foraging for food. Waves that break close to shore are called "Dumpy Shore Break" in surf talk. Not usually optimum for surfing, but fantastic if your a bird that forages on the beach.

Thank you Ava. The Willet was the perfect size for the picture. A heron too tall. A sanderling too short.
