Devil’s Hand Leather Coral

Lobophytum sp.

Description:

The coral gets its name from its unique appearance. It resembles a creepy-looking hand reaching out of the sand. The “fingers” of this coral have polyps sticking out of them, and they can come in different colors. This is presumably a young specimen.

Habitat:

Coral reef on 1 to 2 m depth at low tide.
