Hammerhead Worm

Subfamily Bipaliinae

Description:

It's also known as a land planarian, broadhead planarian and flatworm. This one I found around 3 inches, mostly yellow with some stripes running across it vertically. Even though the name says "hammerhead", this one has none but it is the name that is mostly used for this subfamily.

Habitat:

Found in soil, found throughout Asia but has been introduced to most continents and have became invasive.

Notes:

I was using a cold stratification method to germinate my seeds, that involves putting the container with seeds in the soil inside the fridge. So while I was checking the container I found this worm sticking up to the lid as it was forced out of the soil because of the cold temperature. I took some pics and threw it back out.
