NESTM Grade 5 Corps of Discovery - New York
The mission objective is to observe, record, and analyze lifeforms worthy of notice in the NYC and surrounding Tri-State area. Identifying rare and endangered species, or entirely new species, such as the new leopard frog species that was discovered on Staten Island in 2009 by Jeremy A. Feinberg, a doctoral candidate in ecology and evolution at Rutgers University, is the ultimate goal.
