Description:

Adorably small pink flowers less than 1/2 inch in diameter on low growing plant. There are tiny hairs (trichomes) all over every part of the plant other than the flowers. The leaves are alternating, entire, pinnate and lanceolate. The pea flower has dark pink veining on the banner or standard as well as the wings. The edges of the wings are yellow.

Habitat:

Growing in shady area of mixed grassland and Oak Woodland during wet season in marshy area. This species is native to California

Thank you for the ID suggestion, David. I’m not familiar with that species (or subspecies); however, the range doesn’t seem to extend to Southern California and the leaf arrangement looks different.
