Description:

Huge !. 280mm across; 140mm tall; pileus uneven like lumpy bread, covered with golden crushed velvet, soft to the touch, rolled over margin; stipe very short approx. 60mm wide at ground; underneath is a mass of golden pores.

Habitat:

Suburban garden under very large Pinus radiata.

Notes:

A very attractive to the touch. I saw it again a week ago (no camera sorry) and the whole thing was dark chocolate brown, although still in good shape. ID'd from EdwardNathanReulbachJr. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/881...
