Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle Eggs

Harmonia axyridis

Description:

Bright yellow, oblong eggs. found on big oak tree in clefts of bark. Many clusters of these, all over tree. A few adults were still on the tree, so I assumed the eggs were of that species.

Habitat:

Oak tree on Emory campus, on quad

Notes:

While I was photographing these eggs, a group of elementary schoolers (on a field trip to Emory, playing on quad) came over to see what I was looking at. They got really excited about the eggs and kept pointing out more. Yay for kids who like bugs!
