Native to Cuba and Jamaica (Jamaica's national tree). introduce to other parts of the Caribbean, south Florida, and Hawaii. Tropical wooded areas, along streets, parks.

Notes:

I remember seeing this tree often growing up in Cuba (where it is called Majagua) but this is the first time I notice it here in south Florida.
