I think the ID is right, António. I see a lot of this where I live on the Algarve too and have recently identified it. :) Very beautiful flower.

The flowers look like some kind of Omphalodes, but I have never seen this species, it looks hairy on the leaves...

From what i know of the USA,if i lived there i'll do that without thinking, but here:) you dont know our(them:) portuguese mentality, people here in the north are very individualist, very materialist, super moralists, they think ecologie and nature care are things of people that dont have nothing to do,i'll go anyway,i use the local barber shoop to tell what i'am doing and the next hair cut conversation will be about nature and the paradise that we all have in our back's,and with time they acept things and maiby i'll go to the scouts of the village(here they are very centered in catolic religion issues, not so with nature issues, and me ,well,i'am not a great follower of any religion organization...olds storys :)

i think that you should share your spottings on Noah with them. So that they understand what you are doing exactly. Gather a bunch of people at your home and show them your spottings on the computer.

Emma like i say in the last comment with the insects is even worst because we have to chase them, sometimes run, assuming strange positions to do the rigth photo, very strang activity in the neighourhood :),the next times i'll trie to show you the near by houses :)but like i say i'am going to put in risk my reputation :) for noah.there are hundreds of spottings waiting for me :)
