Fishhook Barrel Cactus

Ferocactus wislizenii

Description:

Barrel cactus, often mistaken for baby saguaro. Flowers vary from yellow to orange to red. Flowers are often a blend of the three colors. Spines are 3-4 inches long on the main, hooked spine and 1-3 inches for the minor spines: dependent on age and climate.

Habitat:

Native to Sonoran desert. This was found west of Tucson, AZ.
