I found this one drinking water at a pool. It is one of the largest species of wasp in this area and measures about 1 1/4" long

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 4.5 months into the 6 month dry season.

I believe its a venomous wasp , but no worries it is a beautiful insect too.
