Downy Woodpecker egg

Picoides pubescens

Description:

Stark white, small, and unusually pointy (cone shaped) at end. I'm not certain of the ID, but downy woodpecker seemed the most likely of the possibilities for this kind of egg, since I've been seeing them a lot recently and they're been making more noise than usual.

Habitat:

My yard, in suburban/semi-rural area. Found in grass near boundary with woods, next to log pile and thick brambly bushes. Also near several dead trees with holes in them, which is where downy woodpeckers lay their eggs.
