Is this a juvenile, perhaps? I have seen some young ones in my yard look almost pink.
Hi Gretel, what you have here looks like an adult Chinese Mantid. Mantid nymphs of all species don't have wings or only have wing buds. This one has fully grown wings. Hope this helps.
