Greater Scaup

Description:

Medium-sized diving duck with rounded head. Males have a black head, chest, and rear end, and gray sides (black on the ends and white in the middle). Females are dull brown, with white patch on face at base of bill.

Habitat:

Along coasts. Prefers saltwater as opposed to the lesser scaup which prefers freshwater.

Notes:

I'm not sure what type of duck is with the scaup in the last photo of the series. Hard to tell from the photo,
