Iris xiphium
Bulbous perennial with sword-shaped, grey-green leaves. Flowers bluish purple with orange marks and 40-60mm across; appear April-May.
Favours scrub, often stony ground. Occurs from Iberian Peninsula eastwards towards Italy.
