thanks oxyjack for the suggestionin Trichalus ampliatus the color is more close to orange and the shape of the elytra is little bit different what you think about the genus "Lycostomus"
Ashish, I agree there is a superficial similarity between this beetle and your picture of the cucujid, but your quizlet also states in the description of the family that cuccujids have wings that are parallel-sided. This lycid beetle has wings that are clearly not parallel-sided.
