It's range extends northward up to BC too.

It is definitely Buprestis aurulenta, a rather common Buprestid in forested areas of California and Oregon.

The ID of Green pubescent ground beetle, Chlaenius sericeus, for this one is in my opinion wrong.
I think it might be Buprestis aurulenta, but somebody has to confirm that.
