Woolly Bear Caterpillar

Description:

A wooly bear caterpillar is a small and hairy caterpillar. Its color is black & orange. They live in cold regions, even in the Arctic. They can survive in temperatures as cold as -90 F. It can survive the entire winter in an ice cube. A wooly bear eats clovers, dandelions, birch leaves, and other plants. It makes a cocoon and it’s about 1.5-2 in. When it’s an adult it’s called an Isabella tiger moth. An adult moth will live for about 1-2 weeks. It’s wing span is 4.5-6.5 cm. Its scientific name is Pyrrharctia Isabella.

Habitat:

They live in cold regions, even in the Arctic.
