Red Shrimp Plant

Justicia brandegeana

Habitat:

Native to Mexico. Many cultivar forms use as ornamentals in gardens.

Notes:

Great plant for attracting hummingbirds, used in this hummingbird and butterfly garden as a stunning undergrowth beneath gumbo-limbos and other flowering shrubs. That second flower picture sure looks like a little shrimp eyes and all.
