Tithorea harmonia pseudonyma
Tithorea harmonia, common name Harmonia Tiger-wing butterfly, is a species of butterflies belonging to the Nymphalidae family. Tithorea harmonia has a wingspan reaching about 70 millimetres (2.8 in). This toxic "tiger" butterfly has the usual pattern of black wings with bright orange bands. The forewings have a black tip. Also the antennae are orange. Larvae feed on Prestonia species.
This widespread species can be found from Mexico to South America.
this butterfly even stayed in place while my friend took a drink from the coke bottle! It wandered all round the bottle, didn't just stay in one place...
This butterfly refused to leave this coke bottle. It spent a good 10 mins on the table with us, and was still there when we left!
