Description:

The only Costa Rican hummer that has completely black face and underparts. Even though this place is on it´s natural range. This is possibly the first photographic report of this species in Monserrat de Coronado.

Habitat:

Prefers mature wet montane forests and forest openings and edge. Inhabits from 900-2000 meters above the sea level. But from Apr to Sept can move down to 600 m.
