Water Germander

Teucrium scordium

Description:

The Water Germander (Teucrium Scordium) is a creeping plant growing in marshy places in various parts of Europe, and a very common herb of Greece where it has been recorded in a variety of wetland and forest habitats with fluctuating water levels, including the margins of dune-slack pools, reed-fen, clay-pits and the banks of rivers, ponds and ditches. In that case, the fully flowered plant was spotted growing in the sides of a local drainage culvert, in Zagora village, Pelion mountain, Greece.
