Mirbelia speciosa ssp. ringrosei

Description:

A small erect shrub in the pea family of Fabaceae, growing to a height of 1 metre with leaves in groups of three. Purple pea flowers occur during winter and spring in it's native range. This species is endemic to eastern Australia.

Habitat:

Grows in heath and dry sclerophyll forest on sandstone, or in this case, granite. Extreme summer and winter temperatures, and high altitude at Boonoo Boonoo National Park, near the township of Tenterfield. All pristine, native vegetation in this area.
