Syrphid Fly

Syrphus torvus

Description:

I have photographed several different syrphid species just in my yard here. The abundance of flowers brings a great diversity of arthropods!

Habitat:

Found on yarrow, though was also plenty of orange hawkweed, salmonberry bushes, pushki, and fireweed around as well. Residential area
