Argynnis paphia
Southern Europe.
Welcome. This would be the name masters of European fauna:

You are absolutely right, Bayucca. I found the name Pandoriana in one of my books, but elsewhere it is called Argynnis. On the web both names exist, there is even a Pandoriana argynnis. Confusing! Thanks for your help, I appreciate.
Fritillary are always some kind of "eye-hunting" for spots and markings. I think yours is not the Argynnis pandora but Argynnis paphia. My arguments: Take shot #2: In the second row of the hindwing, the round spots are too large for Pandora. On the forewing at the lower margins there are too larger spots. These are separated in yours and in Paphia. In Pandora these spots are connected together. The spots and markings on the otherside/upperside of the forewing margin looks different in Paphia and Pandora: In Pandora the 3 of the "spot packages" looks like a "flying bird", in yours and Paphia there are only 2 larger spots. So in my eyes it is Argynnis paphia. What do you think??
