Description:

Hippotion boerhaviae is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is known from Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Thailand, south-eastern China (Hong Kong and Guangdong), Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, eastern Australia, New Guinea and New Caledonia.

Habitat:

Spotted on star gooseberry (Sauropus androgynus) in a large semi-urban yard & garden next to a disturbed patch of remnant lowland forest.
