European Earwig

Doru albepes (Forficulidae: Forficulinae)

Description:

Earwigs are small insects that have a distinctive feature: a pincer(cerci). They look evil but they dont do any harm to humans. They eat rotting plants and plant stems but other species like this one eats smaller insects.

Habitat:

Lives in dark areas such as under logs, and rocks

Notes:

I found this earwig under a rock, then I fed the stink bug nymphs. This species of earwig is hard to identify according to this website https://www.whatsthatbug.com/2009/12/20/... where I found a similar species. Though I was skeptical, I used the name European Earwig instead since it belongs to thesame family: Forficulidae.
