Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush

Garrulax erythrocephalus erythrocephalus

Description:

about 25cm

Habitat:

cloudforest, elevation about 2000m (6500') found in Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Notes:

I spotted this bird in Doi Inthanon National Park, about 60km from Chiang Mai. The park is fairly developed in some areas. I was at a small coffee kiosk near the start of a nature trail enjoying an excellent coffee with local beans when this bird landed nearly right in front of me. I had to act quick to get my camera and get a shot. This was all I could get, with the flash. I hope it's enough for ID.
