That's definitely the right sort of habitat. That species is found wild in your area too. Nice spotting, I love the variegated leaves.

I think it may be Heuchera americana. Was this growing wild somewhere or in a garden?

Looks like a Heuchera. If it was blooming, I'd know for sure.
