Habitat:

Native to the Himalayan lowlands. Grown as ornamental in gardens.

Notes:

This shrub created a wall of orange red flowers that at a distance looked like bougainvillea (common here where I live). however on close inspection the flowers were very odd looking and like none I've ever seen. I took me a while to find it on line searching for descriptions of the strange flower.
