Anolis carolinensis
This is a collection of four photographs representing four different green anole spottings at Grand Bay WMA in south Georgia. I know, I know -- four spottings should be four posts, right? Well, listen up: If I submitted every green anole spotting I've photographed as a separate (but equal) submission, well... this site would be renamed "Project Green Anoles and Whatever Else May Fit In What's Left Of The Boat." I cluster these four fellas together for the good of Project Noah. And for humanity. Judge if ye must, but rest assured: I have only the best of intentions. Anyhow, green anoles are ridiculously abundant in the American southeast. They're trunk-crown ecomorphs and love, love, love to hang in the foliage. They've also been genetically mapped and are quite popular among the ecology and evolution crowd. As evidence, I direct you to http://www.anoleannals.org/ -- a website devoted exclusively to Genus Anolis (and a few other related wannabes). [jansonjones http://dusttracks.com]
