Description:

Downy perennial with leaves comprising 3 narrow, toothed leaflets which broaden towards the tip. Flowers purple and 12-15mm long; in heads of 5-40 flowers, March-June. Pods spirally coiled.

Habitat:

Grown as a fodder crop, widely naturalised.

Notes:

Local name is Lucerne.
