Description:

Large fly, has red bars/spots on its eyes, characteristic white "U" on its thorax when viewed from above. About 1 inch long. Looks like a large bee with small wings. Face somewhat resembles a cicada, with the exception of the big fly eyes.

Habitat:

Sandy desert grassland.
