Yes a female or perhaps immature male. There are only two Psammophilus species and they are obviously related, but their ranges don't overlap...(much?). I am not familiar with the geography of India. It may be the same species...

thanks S. Frazier for the ID. I am wondering if it is actually this lizard or the female of the one I just posted, identified as Psammophilus blanfordanus. My friend just said she mates with the Psammophilus blanfordanus. Do you know if they look alike, or if they are likely to mate, being different species?
