Thericles
Small bush hopper found in my garden
North Eastern corner of South Africa
great spot, and pretty little fellow too
O wow! yes very very nice!
There is a large number of different grasshoppers / locust in South Africa. The brown locust is a real pest when conditions are right and literally millions attack crops. It's as if a giant lawnmower went across the country.
A bit different from our Grasshopper.
I hope to see more of your endemic plants and animals. More power.
That's the beauty of Noah. We learn from each other.
Your spotting is very educational! Thank you for sharing.
Really! I never thought due to the unusual proportions. There is not much info about Thericles:http://www.flickr.com/photos/zimbart/592...http://www.flickr.com/photos/berniedup/6...Never to late to learn ;-)...
It is actually fully grown, only 20mm long and wingless.
Looks like being a nymph.
