Tern or gull?

Leucophaeus (Larus) atricilla

Description:

Black beak, feet and tail. Cannot figure out if its a tern or a gull. I bet more for a sea gull but could not find the species.

Habitat:

Coast

Notes:

I could not follow them for long cause we were going to have lunch.
