Nice spot! These used to be so common when I was growing up in England but sadly become much less so now - presumable because so many have been killed on the roads.
Well, it's not a pet. Is a wild one, but if you check the position in the map, you will see that I'm not in US.
Yes, is just that, an european hedgehog! ;)
