Congratulations Albert, your Beaded Sea Anemone has been voted Spotting of the Week:

"This extraordinarily intricate and colourful organism is a Beaded Sea Anemone (Heteractis aurora), and it has been voted Spotting of the Week! This anemone has swelled-up bulges along its tentacles, giving them an appearance of string of beads. This is a juvenile anemone, which will loose most of its colors as it grows to adult size. The Beaded Sea Anemone is a host to seven species of anemonefish".

Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!

Thanks, @Christine for your appreciation :)

Thanks too, @Daniele and yes, they do changes in colour when bigger. They can get up to 25 cm in oral disc size. The colouration is not so striking when bigger. I looked up other pictures online and also picture of the same species by Marta of a much bigger organism.

Stunning! When life looks better than an abstract painting ;-)
Does it change colour with age Albert?
