Description:

Other names include French mulberry, sourbush, bunchberry and purple beauty-berry. The fruit is popular with insects and birds. Native American groups used the plant to treat rheumatism, malaria fevers, dysentery, stomachache, dizziness and colic. Farmers have also used the leaves as mosquito and biting bug repellants.
