Not easy to see but Black body, Mini white feathers, and a marvelous wood pecker!
In the Children's grand park in South Korea.
I was taking a walk in the morning and I saw this bird on a tree.
There are 10 species which occur in South Korea:
Eurasian wryneck, Jynx torquilla
Grey-capped woodpecker, Dendrocopos canicapillus (A)
Japanese pygmy woodpecker, Dendrocopos kizuki
Rufous-bellied woodpecker, Dendrocopos hyperythrus (A)
White-backed woodpecker, Dendrocopos leucotos
Great spotted woodpecker, Dendrocopos major
Eurasian three-toed woodpecker, Picoides tridactylus
White-bellied woodpecker, Dryocopus javensis (A)
Black woodpecker, Dryocopus martius
Grey-faced woodpecker, Picus canus
Of these only the Great Spotted has a long white wingbar.
Neat find! When filling out the scientific name field, make sure you are only putting the genus and species names. Family names can go in the description. If you do not know the genus/species, please leave the scientific name field blank and tick the box that asks for help to identify.
Even though the image not especially clear, it is possible that we may be able to identify this woodpecker.
