weaver ant and fly (prey)

Oecophylla smaragdina

Description:

A lone weaver ant struggles with a dead unidentified fly species (see http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/104... ) carrying it back to the colony (see a colony here http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/782... )

Habitat:

Spotted on pumpkin (Cucurbita sp.) in a vegetable garden in a semi urban setting of houses, yards, gardens and patches of disturbed tropical forest.

Notes:

The fly was probably scavenged but was added to the arthropod interaction mission on the chance that there was some interaction.
