Ah, ok! It was hard to tell in the photo (you saw it in person). That was my other guess. Glad you found out what it was. :)

I absolutely adore skinks! What a great spot! Skinks are very sleek and smooth and also very fast (as long as they aren't cold). They usually have longer, pointier snouts than newts (newts are amphibians and skinks are reptiles).
