Three-toed Box Turtle

Description:

A small, terrestrial turtle with a high-domed shell and normally three toes on each hind limb.

Habitat:

Forest, near a large stream

Notes:

These turtles can be found throughout most of Missouri. Missouri's other box turtle is the Ornate Box Turtle.
