Description:

Upper body is brown above and lower body is white with two black bands on the breast and black, white and brown on the head. Long legs and tail. Rusty feathers can be seen in flight.

Habitat:

Fields, park areas, open recreational land, pastures and open prairie

Notes:

This bird often appears to be injured and may flutter away but not far to distract the observer from it's nesting area.
