Ocypode ceratophthalma
The horn-eyed ghost crab has eyes perched on two horn-like protuberances. At maturity, it measures three inches across its armored body. Holes dug near the surf line usually have neat, cone- shaped sand piles nearby and belong to horn-eyed ghost crabs. The horn-eyed excavates differently than a pallid ghost crab does. It has a large front claw that it employs like a shovel to pick up and carry sand a few inches away from its hole, where it then piles it in a distinctive cone-shaped mound
