Galah or Rose Breasted cockatoo

Eolophus roseicapilla

Description:

The common cockatoo of Australia, found from the interior to the shoreline, as were this pair, feeding on the runner of the grass at the beach, no doubt hoping for a handout, but not competing with their larger sulpher crested cousins

Habitat:

area of grass near public beach

Notes:

As common as they were, this was my first spotting of them in Australia. Beautiful birds, I could never get tired of watching them
