Description:

Small banded moth with very narrow winga. Long fine antennae. Ragged banding with cream and chocolate brown. Approximately 12mm long.

Habitat:

Resting in the crevices of Red ironbark.

Notes:

This species has carnivorous larvae with feed on scale insects. It is regarded as common in the eastern states of Australia. It is useful to control scale insects in eucalyptus plantations. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Stathmopod...
