Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

Polioptila caerulea

Description:

Bluish cap with dark eyebrow. Back is bluish gray and light color throat to belly. Bill is dark and thin and tail is long. Thin white eyering. Call is like a scolding squeal. I usually hear them before I see them.

Habitat:

Found these mostly in the same areas as Chickadees (either ones) from the dryer area of Garden of the Gods to more thicker forested areas.
